The Wake-Up Call Show: The Universe Rises Up to Meet You (Video)

Dearest One,

On my last Wake-Up Call Wednesday I talked about how I created a new weekly flow, a new schedule and rhythm, for the new year. New year = new support!

I was sooo excited about having a new schedule that honors my Sacred Flow stand for 2015. One that gives me space for my girls, for my work, for my marriage and for me. I was tingling with enthusiasm and delightful anticipation.

And then our house got overtaken by a stomach bug (cue dramatic music!). So my first full week felt a little less sacred and a little more crazy. I made a short video for you about it when I was on a run. You can watch it below.

It seems to often play out this way. We create a stand or intention and The Universe responds by rising up to meet you and put your Mantra to the test. The perfect playing field appears.

Ready for the sacred flow,

    Hi Amy,
I try to watch your videos just because your wonderful smiley energy is a such a pick me up!! You are like a good cup of coffee at the start of my day Missy!! xo Anyway I was thinking about your question and it sure does sound like that universe threw you down a challenge last week! (Hope everyone is on the mend.) I think it may be throwing one down for me too.
I haven’t sat down to set a format intention for 2015 yet….but the intention that always lives in me is my wish to grow as an artist and to share my work with a wider audience. I have a play being produced in a festival in Toronto this March and it occurred to me that I should be inviting some Artistic Directors from other companies out to see it. TO is a theatre hotbed and this is a great opportunity. Intimidating as hell for me….but it is no doubt a challenge. Now I need to scrape together some courage to rise to the occasion. Wish me luck!!

My big thing this year is to eat gluten free and cut carbs (especially sugar)to a minimum, with the goal of reversing high blood pressure and diabetes. I was doing fine until the candy hearts with the little messages– you know the ones, hit the store shelves for Valentine’s Day. And the Easter stuff is already out so I’m going to be faced with tempting sweets for the next month or so. This is a test of my resolve for better health. Do I want it bad enough to resist the sweets? Or do I realize that perfection is an illusion and allow myself to eat a few candy hearts while staying on my diet?

Amy, I just love you and how you tell it like it is. My flow this year is around my new business as of last summer. I love what I do, but I do not love marketing the biz – can actually loathe it at times. I am focusing on seeing myself as a student of marketing and accepting that this is what I have to do if I want to do the work that calls to me. So guess what? One of the women in the class I’m currently teaching who loves my class is a marketing and sales expert! At class last night she said she is going to market the hell out of my class because it’s been so helpful to her. How cool is that?

Hope all are feeling well is your house now, Amy. There is a lot of nasty illnesses going around where I live too. Take care to you and anyone else who read this.

Loved this video…it’s so real, very refreshing. I could relate a bit as I was committed to increasing my business and focusing more on myself this year, when lo and behold, my daughter’s family one by one started with the flu too. Which meant little ones cannot be in school. Which meant grandmother dearest, me, being present for them..The season seems to have lasted extra long and I am just now getting back to myself, but I feel a little discombobulated (word?)…also healing myself from a nasty breakup of a person I have known for 8 years and loved, and cohabited with. I extricated myself as he became more distant, moved to another state near family to begin again. But oh am I shaky, and using your blogs to remind myself that I am worth loving…thanks again for this one. When kids are so sick it gives you a chance to express your love….Hope everyone is feeling better!
